Black Adam

Microsoft Movies & TV

When an ancient superhuman is released, what could go wrong (or, right)? A former Kahndaq slave (Black Adam) is bestowed with the combined almighty powers of six Egyptian gods (i.e., stamina, speed, strength, wisdom, power, and courage), but is quickly imprisoned after becoming a superbeing. Nearly 5,000 years later, he is freed from his earthly tomb by a group of archaeologists and resistance fighters, ready to unleash his unique form of justice on the modern world. After a series of mishaps and battles, the titular character is faced with becoming a villain or a hero in this DC Extended Universe entry. Black Adam stars Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Aldis Hodge, Noah Centineo, and Sarah Shahi.

Jurassic World Dominion

Microsoft Movies & TV

All over the planet, humans are finding themselves living and hunting alongside de-extinct dinosaurs. Four years after the cataclysmic volcanic eruption of Isla Nublar, our heroes Claire Dearing and Owen Brady, must save the day again in Jurassic World Dominion. The balance of the world is challenged so this time they may have to call in the “big guns,” Drs. Ellie Sattler, Alan Grant, and Ian Malcolm, who previously saved the day in the franchise’s original “Jurassic Park.” The ensemble cast includes Bryce Dallas Howard, Chris Pratt, Laura Dern, Sam Niell, Jeff Goldblum, DeWanda Wise, and BD Wong.

Minions: The Rise of Gru

Microsoft Movies & TV

They say everyone and everything has a purpose. In this prequel, discover the sordid, yet bumbling history of the beloved minions and their relationship to Gru. Having lived on the planet since the dawn of time, the yellow creatures have only had one mission—to serve an evil master. After a myriad of hilarious mishaps with previous supervillains, they go into hiding, but later get an itch to serve again. Watch Minions: The Rise of Gru to see the creatures botch yet another evil plan, while discovering how their relationship with Gru came to be. This animated feature stars Steve Carrell, Sandra Bullock, Pierre Coffin, and an all-star cast.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife

Microsoft Movies & TV

For lovers of the original films, you’ll get excited at the sight of the first ghost trap and the sound of Ecto-1’s siren. But, Ghostbusters: Afterlife takes a different, more dramatic turn as a bit of a coming-of-age story as teens discover the history of our former ghostbusting heroes, while working with their teacher to save their town. This edge of your seat adaptation promises to breathe new life in the beloved franchise with this new-age tale.

Lightyear

Microsoft Movies & TV

This “Toy Story” spin-off follows the fictional science-fiction movie character that spawned the creation of the toy, Buzz Lightyear. In Lightyear, Buzz is a space ranger on a mission to explore a habitable planet with his crew mates. However, they soon realize that life on the planet isn’t the most welcoming. Having retreated to repair their damaged ship, Buzz’s crew and eventual new crew must find a way to defeat their enemies and—hopefully—live to see another adventure. Lightyear stars Chris Evans, Keke Palmer, and Taika Waititi.

The Batman

Microsoft Movies & TV

Director and co-writer Matt Reeves describes The Batman as a mix of detective story, action, and psychological thriller. The movie kicks off with the death of Gotham City’s mayor at the hands of The Riddler (Paul Dano), who beckons for Batman (Robert Pattinson). As his alter ego seeks answers and justice, Bruce Wayne—haunted by the death of his parents—is darker than ever as our hero embraces his true purpose while confronting his history. Zoë Kravitz, Colin Farrell, Jeffrey Wright and Andy Serkis also star as Catwoman, The Penguin, James Gordon, and Alfred, respectively.
